Onda Verde began with a simple idea: one person’s choices can create ripples of change. Growing up in Miami, our founder saw firsthand how climate change affects our communities—from rising seas to extreme heat—and how those impacts hit hardest in neighborhoods that already face other challenges. At the same time, she noticed how much waste, especially clothing, ends up in landfills every day.
Gaby Morales started Onda Verde to give like-minded young adults a way to act on climate justice in real, tangible ways. Our mission is to keep clothes and textiles out of landfills while raising awareness about the bigger connections between consumer habits, environmental health, and equity. By combining grassroots action with technology and education, we’re building a movement that empowers students and communities to protect both people and planet.
